Charline Emma Mattlage Carter, 95, was born to Charles and Emma Rowen on December 20, 1924 in Elk City, OK and passed away on Sunday October 11, 2020 at the Plainview Healthcare Center in Plainview, Texas. Charline was raised on a farm south of Reyndon, OK. She graduated from Reyndon High School in 1942. She then attended Oklahoma State University and received her degree from Southwestern State College in 1958. She was a member of the national honorary scholastic fraternity Alpha Phi Sigma at Southwestern State College, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since the age of 18, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clinton. Charline was a retired civil service employee retiring from the social security office in 1985. She was married to Raymond Mattlage in 1963 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She married Laron E Carter in 1988 and he preceded her in death in 1993. Charline is preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, one son and one brother. She is survived by her son Carlson Trusler of Lubbock; one step-son Gary Mattlage and wife Lydia of Augusta, GA and daughter-in-law, Anna Trusler of Plainview, TX; one nephew, Gary Rowen and wife Peggy of Houston; One Niece Lisa Hunt and husband Rick of Elephant Butte, NM. God blessed Charline with two granddaughters, Rowena McKinney and husband Tracy of Amarillo, TX, Laquita Andrews and husband Damon of Billings, MT; two grandsons, Chad Trusler and wife Nancy of Wichita Falls, TX and Trent Trusler and wife Lida of Dalhart, TX. Also left to cherish her memory are 15 great grandchildren. Charline considered many, many people to be her friends and she loved and respected all of her relatives. A graveside service will be held on October 14, 2020 at 1 PM at the Cheyenne Cemetery in Cheyenne, OK.
