Clay LeMaster (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Clay LeMaster, 62, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 10, 2022, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Services will be officiated by his nephew Matt Wesley of Harvest Connexion Church in Amarillo. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Clay was born on November 28, 1959, in Tulia to Benton and Charlotte LeMaster. He grew up in Tulia and graduated Tulia High School in 1978. He graduated from court reporting school in Abilene in 1980.

Upon graduation, Clay accepted a job in El Paso where he worked for one year. He then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked as a freelance court reporter for Ballard Court Reporting. In 1984, he returned to the Texas panhandle and opened LeMaster Court Reporting in Amarillo. In 1988, he was offered the position of District Court Reporter for the 64th District of Texas.

Clay also sat in the district courts of Deaf Smith and Bailey counties. At the time of his death, he was the district court reporter for Parmer County. The family would like to express their gratitude to Parmer County for their overwhelming love and support during the past three months.

Clay loved music, playing the guitar and piano.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Lonnie and Ella LeMaster, J.C. and Christine Box, and his father: Benton LeMaster.

His family includes his mother: Charlotte LeMaster of Tulia, his daughter: Addison DeVries and husband Jack of Canyon, his son: Laith LeMaster and fiancé Katie Chapman of Lubbock, his sister: Traci Wesley and husband Eldon of Amarillo, his nephews: Mitch Wesley and wife Brittney of Midlothian, Matt Wesley and wife Lindsey of Amarillo, his niece: McKenzie Parker and husband Evan of Fort Worth, his granddaughter: Ellie DeVries of Canyon, and many great nieces and nephews.
