Tulia, Texas—Crawford Wesley, 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the First Assembly of God Church with Mr. Harold Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Friday, February 23, 2018 at the funeral home. Crawford was born on January 29, 1929 in Canyon to J.H. “Buck” and Mabel Fern Wesley. He grew up in Silverton and served in the US Army during WWII. After his honorable discharge he returned to Silverton and married Betty Anderson on July 21, 1950. He farmed on the Burn-May farm for one year and then moved to Tulia where he met J.R. Sprawls and farmed for him until Mr. Sprawls died in 1952. He then rented the Sprawls land and farmed it until 1999. He also owned and operated W.W. Custom Hay Bailing Business with his son David. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty died December 6, 2015, and his brothers and sisters: Lonnie Wesley, Eddie Wesley, Elvira Weaks, Jo Marie Weaks and Mildred Mouser. His family includes his three children: David Wesley of Tulia, Virginia Brinsfield of Matador and Debbie Finch of Matador, nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great, great grandchildren.
