Cristobal Rios, Sr. (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Cristobal “Bode” Rios, Sr., 75, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 in Tulia. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A visitation will be held at 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Cristobal was born on June 13, 1943 in Ballenger, Texas to Rumaldo Rios, Sr. and Tiadora Canada Rios. He married Modesta “Linda” Salas on October 3, 1963 and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2010. Chris was a hard working man and worked for nearly 37 years at Diamond B Feedyards. He enjoyed driving his new feed truck. He was a fan of the Texas Rangers baseball team and was very excited when he got to go see them play with his sons this year. Cristobal also enjoyed fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother: Rumaldo Rios Jr., four sisters: Sally Calzada, Josepha Salas, Ermalinda Lopez and Naomi Rios.

He is survived by his two daughters: Debra Olivarez of Corinth, TX and Rosemary Rodriquez & husband Israel of Tulia, TX, two sons: Victor Rios, Jr. of Harlingen, TX  and Chris Rios & wife Claudia of Amarillo, TX, two sisters: Olivia Perez of Ballinger, TX, Martina Garza of Tulsa, OK,  numerous nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
