Dalton Freeman, 79, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Weatherford, Texas. Graveside Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 14, 2020 at Kress Cemetery with Jerry Bevill officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. Dalton was born on July 25, 1941 in Plainview, Texas to George Carmichael Freeman and Nellie (Newberry) Freeman. He grew up in Kress and graduated from Kress High School. He married Mary Lasandra (Sandy) Lincecum on August 4, 1961 in Plainview. They owned and operated the grocery store in Kress for 52 years. Dalton was a beloved father and grandfather and very active in his community and his children’s lives. He was active in IA, 4-H and FFA as well as all sports. His hobbies were doing what his children and grandchildren were doing. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Kress. Survivors include his wife Sandy of Graford, TX; three sons, Kendall Freeman of Graford, Lyn Freeman and wife Cathy of Lubbock, Chad Freeman of Graford; two brothers, G.C. Freeman of Bartlesville, OK, Gene Freeman of Carrolton, TX; one sister, Nina Becker of Duncanville, TX; two grandchildren, Lance Freeman and Luke Freeman. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
