Darrel Glenn Perkins, 79, of Lubbock died on Monday, July 12, 2021. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Kornerstone Chapel with James Osborne, Elder of South Plains Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in the Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. A visitation will be held on Saturday at 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Darrel was born on September 20, 1941 in Plainview, Texas to James Walker and Eula Mae (Davis) Perkins. He grew up and attended school in Plainview. He married Sandra “Sandie” Jones on January 26, 1963 in Clovis, New Mexico. He was a truck driver for many years and worked for W.R. Grace, Furr’s Inc., Fleming and Walmart before retiring in 2014. He loved spending time in Eureka Springs, the Ozarks and Possum Kingdom where he loved fishing and hunting with the boys as well as enjoyed eating and watching westerns. Darrel loved his family more than anything. He was a member of South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock. He is survived by his wife Sandie of Lubbock; his children, Jeff Perkins, John Perkins, LeeAnn Christy and C.A., Russell Perkins, all of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Ashley Mendez and Eli of Lubbock, Amber Harth and Justin of Canyon, Arin Christy of Lubbock and one great grandchild on the way, Logan Harth. He was preceded in death by his siblings, J.W. Perkins, Jr., Gwen Patterson, Peggy Breland, Betty Raymer and Billy Don Perkins.
