Livestream Link for David Walker David Rex Walker, 79, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2023. A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 29, 2023, in the Kornerstone Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Manny De Los Santos of Power Church Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. David was born on August 14, 1944, in Plainview, Texas to Thomas Herbert and Celia May Walker. He spent his entire life growing up Plainview and raising a family. He made his living farming in Halfway and was a Deputy Sheriff for Hale County for 25 years. David had a love of many things, family, friends hunting, fishing, and guns. He truly enjoyed spending time with the grandkids trying to beat them at one of his favorite games-dominoes or checkers, participating in cowboy action shooting with his friends and owning and operating a hunting reserve with his son. David was also very involved in the Masonic Lodge in Plainview where he served as a Past Master. David was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister-in-law Lewis and Joyce Walker, a stepson, Bobby Joe Patterson, and his fur friend “Bud”. He is survived by his wife Jo Carol Walker of Plainview; his brother Garland Walker and wife Ruth of Amarillo; his 4 children, Angela Younglas and husband Larry of Lubbock, Kathy Scholl and Joe David Castilleja of Lubbock, Pam Ashley and husband Tim of Dallas and Monty Walker and wife Lilly of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family suggests memorials in memory of David to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Heart Association, or the charity of your choice.
