Delbert W. Newman (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Delbert W. Newman, 78, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Oscar Chavez officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held at 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the funeral home. Delbert was born on April 26, 1940 in Kress, Texas to Randolph and Emma Lou Newman. Delbert graduated from Tulia High School and went into the United States Air Force and served two years in Germany. After the service he worked for the Alaskan Pipeline in Anchorage for several years. He also was a feedlot cowboy and worked at many locations around Swisher County. He married Ellaine Thomason on July 10, 1984 in Clovis, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Charles Martin Newman. His is survived by his wife: Ellaine Newman of Tulia, three daughters: Danita Becker of Ft. Worth, Tracie Lewis of Midland and Christie Newman of Tombstone, AZ; one step-daughter: Janet Boursier of Arizona and several grandchildren.
