Delia Garcia (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Delia Garica, 56, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father David Contreras officiating. Cremation services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Delia was born on February 14, 1963 in Tulia, Texas to Alfredo Tovar and Ophelia Maria (Luera) Garcia. Delia graduated from Tulia High School in 1981 and later attended Texas State Technical College and graduated in 1983.  She worked at Flying O Enterprises Gin and later went to work as a grain hauler with her dad for two years. Delia joined her brothers working as a bull hauler for several years until she became disabled.  She had a collection of Tweedy Bird and was known as “Brown Sugar” by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her sister; Dean Garcia, both her paternal and maternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her parents; Alfredo Tovar and Ophelia Maria Garcia, two brothers; Alfredo L. Garcia, Jr. of Tulia, Randolph Garcia of Tulia, one sister; Tina Marie Moreno and husband Sesar of Tulia, several nieces and nephews.
