Tulia, Texas, Derek William Milner, 50, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist with Rev. Greg Perkins and Rev. Sam Espinosa officiating with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
A visitation will be on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
Derek was born on May 20, 1971 to Larry Dan Milner and Linda Faye Fisher. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1989. He graduated from Angelo State University in 1993 majoring in Business and Real Estate.
Derek was a loving father, son, brother, and nephew with a generous and kind loving heart. He will be remembered by family and friends as funny, stubborn, outgoing, unique, and hardheaded but was always the life of the party. He was a talented person and there was never a dull moment with Derek. He made everyone feel welcome and was always a loyal friend, a quick wit. Derek loved our Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and will forever be missed.
He is preceded in death by his father; Larry Milner, his brother; Doug Milner, his uncle; Jimmy Fisher.
He is survived by his daughter; Haley Milner of Amarillo, his mother and step-father; Linda Shipp and husband Bobby of Tulia, his sister; Danielle Williams and husband Lance of Panhandle, his step-brother; Kasey Shipp of Dallas, his step-sister; Kristi Gonzales and husband Charlie of Dumas, his nieces and nephews; Addison Milner of Independence, Missouri, Kayla and Locke Williams of Panhandle, his aunts and uncles; Jimmy McCaslin and wife Jan of Tulia, Boyd Milner and wife Becky of Lubbock, Debbie Fisher of Tulia, Scott Sheets and wife Vicki of Brewster, Kansas, his step uncle; Philip Gunkey and wife Cathey of Tulia, numerous cousins.
