Dolores Flores Champion (Plainview)

Dolores Flores Champion, 92, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview with Father George Poonely officiating.  Burial will follow in the Center Plains Cemetery in Cotton Center under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.  A visitation will be held Tuesday evening, December 18, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. in the Kornerstone Chapel. Dolores was born on January 17, 1926 in Branch, Texas to Jesus and Bacillia Flores. Dolores married Jimmie Champion on December 19, 1947 in Grandfalls. She worked for the Cotton Center Schools for 30 years as the Cafeteria Supervisor before retiring. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview and was a member of the Guadalapanas. Dolores also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She is preceded in death by her husband Jimmie; parents, Jesus and Bacillia Flores; and a son Joe Champion. Dolores is survived by her children Betty Champion-Haltmar of Canyon Lake, TX, Mary Garibay of Lubbock, Diane Long of Plainview, Juanita Luna of Edinburg, TX, Robert Champion of Amarillo, David Champion of Plainview; two brothers, Adolph Flores of California, Juan Flores of San Antonio; three sisters, Frances Gonzalez, Mary Quinn, Socorro Flores all of San Antonio; 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren Online condolences can be made at www.kornerstonefunerals.com
