Tulia, Texas—Ira Don Goodwin was a fraternal twin born on January 5, 1967 in Odessa, Texas to Ira Joe and Ola Mae Tatum Goodwin. He grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1985. He attended West Texas State University and soon after he moved to Liberal, KS to live with his beloved uncle and aunt. He then moved to Tulsa, OK where his love for dance led him to be a dance instructor. He lived in Tulia as well as Amarillo and San Antonio before moving to Houston in 2014 and finding his true love Pam McRae. He worked for Upstage Center, Inc. in Houston which allowed him to be himself, dance, and see many different musical artist and celebrities from around the world.
Don’s greatest wish was making sure that everyone around him felt important and had a good time. He never met a stranger because Don believed that everyone deserved the respect of his conversation. The thing he enjoyed the most is being around his family no matter the occasion. He had a gift for reaching the youth and often shared words from the Bible with them.
He is preceded in death by his father: Ira Joe Goodwin, his sister: Eunice Scott, his oldest child: Madisson and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
