Tulia, Texas-Dorothy Elizabeth Boyett, 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2018 in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms and Rev. Scott Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:000 pm Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the funeral home. Dorothy was born on February 15, 1930 in Amarillo to Ray and Joye Thomas. She grew up in Quail, Texas and graduated from Quail High School. She moved to Tulia from Amarillo in the late 1950’s. She started working for Tulia ISD as manager of Ezra Jones Cafeteria and later became Director of Food Services until she retired in 1999. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was Tulia Woman of the Year and in 2014 she was inducted into the Tulia ISD Hall of Fame. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister: Edna Ann Thomas, her son: Alvin Boyett, her son-in-law: Billy Earl and a grandson: Chad Wade. She is survived by her daughter: Debra Earl of Tulia, two sons: Jerry Boyett of Tulia and Terry Boyett and wife Tami of Rogers, AR, seven grandchildren: Michelle Geries and husband Steve of Yukon, OK, Jeremy Earl and wife Kendra of Tulia, Mary Bremmer and husband Dale of Tulia, Candace Allison and husband Nathan of Fritch, Misty Rox of LaGrange, Tia Boyett of Rogers, AR and Trevor Boyett of Rogers, AR, six great grandchildren: Lindi Kerr and husband Sage of Yukon, OK, Bailee Geries of Yukon, OK, Brittany Hendricks and husband Jake of Panhandle, Cameron Earl and wife Kayla of Lubbock, Aleesha Boyett of Tulia and Lorin Allison of Fritch and three great, great grandchildren: Gabriel Kerr of Yukon, OK, Elijah Kerr of Yukon, OK and Nicole Earl of Lubbock.
