Douglas Ellison (Plainview)

Douglas Cooper Ellison, 83, of Petersburg passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 16, 2021 at Plainview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday at 1:00 P.M. until shortly before the service. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Douglas was born on February 6, 1938 in Plainview, Texas to Floyd and Virginia Ellison. He grew up on a farm on highway 400 in Petersburg, Texas. After graduating from Petersburg High School in 1956 Douglas attended Texas Tech University for three years. In High School Douglas was on the golf team and was apart of a state champion team. While studying at Tech, Douglas was on the golf team as well. Douglas was a well-known farmer in Petersburg for many years, and loved to buy and sell guns. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Virginia Ellison. Douglas is survived by his son, Cooper Ellison and wife Rene of Petersburg, Texas; four grandchildren, Whitney Stone and husband Dustin, Lacey Hegi and husband Kyle, Brandon Smith and wife Alex, and Aaron Voight and wife Molly.
