Edward C Ramirez, Sr. (Plainview)

Edward Ramirez, Sr., 66, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 8, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A rosary will be held 6:00 P.M., Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Edward was born on September 27, 1951 in Hillsboro, TX to Raul and Elvira Ramirez. In 1978, Edward met the love of his life, Maria Ponce, and they began their lives together. He was a loving husband and cared for all of his and Maria’s children and grandchildren. Edward worked at Hart Coop Producers, for the City of Hart, for AAA Pumps and was a truck driver. He retired in 2009. He was a man of very few words but his actions spoke volumes. He showed kindness to everyone and was always ready and willing to help others. His favorite things were outdoors, grilling and doing yard work. He is survived by his wife, Maria; a son, Edward Ramirez, Jr. and fiancé Sarah Hutto of Plainview, Texas; a daughter, Monica Ramirez of Hart, TX; his stepchildren, Isaias Ponce and wife Margaret of Floydada, TX, Noemi Ponce of Dimmitt, TX, Vickie Hinsley and husband Danny of Plainview, TX, Dilphia McCollum and husband Chad of Falcon, CO, Joe Ponce and wife Alma of Brownsville, TX; his siblings, Lupe Leyva of Florida, Irene Ramirez and husband Vicente Padilla, Raul Ramirez, Jr. and wife Elvira, Raymond Ramirez, Joe Ramirez and wife Teressa, Irma Marrufo and husband Mario, all of Hart, TX, Juan Ramirez and wife Carmen of California, Frank Ramirez of Dimmit, TX, Rosa Hernandez and husband Fernando of Victoria, TX, Mary Armendarez and husband Marcos of Ft. Worth, TX, Mary Jane Gonzalez and husband Luis of Olton, TX, Robert Ramirez and wife Rosa of Arlington, TX, Aurora Luna and husband Noel of Plainview, TX; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents, a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Ponce, daughter-in-law- Amanda Ramirez, a grandson, Bryan Hernandez and a brother, Jimmy Ramirez.
