Eloy Subealdea (Tulia)

Eloy Subealdea, 66, of Tulia passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in the First Baptist Church with Pastor Tyson Willis and Pastor Edward Barrientez officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A prayer service will be held in the Kornerstone Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Eloy was born on August 18, 1958, in Harlingen, Texas, to Eleazar and Consuelo (Sifuentes) Subealdea Sr. He attended Tulia High School and married Rosa Basaldua on August 16, 1975, in Tulia, where they built a loving family with five children.

Eloy enjoyed a fulfilling career, working at George and Barnett Tractor Supply for 13 years before dedicating 22 years to Roll-A-Cone, from which he retired. Known for his humor and playful spirit, he was a beloved uncle/father who cherished his family deeply. Eloy’s favorite moments were spent on the front porch during Sunday dinners, surrounded by loved ones and making memories, especially with his grandchildren, capturing their smiles in countless photos. He also enjoyed outings to the casinos with Rosa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eleazar and Consuelo Subealdea; his brother, Eddie Subealdea.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Subealdea of Tulia; his children, Jennifer Lee Willis and husband Tyson of Tulia, Josie Barrientez and husband Edward of Tulia, Joe Subealdea and wife Criselda of Tulia, Stephanie Subealdea and Jose Joven of Tulia and Sonya Bones and husband Steven of Tulia; his brothers and sisters, Jaime Subealdea of Tulia, Eleazar Subealdea, Jr. of Plainview, Norma Cruz of Midland, Maria Gomez of Tulia, Frank Subealdea of Dalhart and Baldemar Subealdea of Midland-Odessa; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
