Erlinda Benavidez (Tulia)

Kress, Texas—Erlinda Benavidez, 57, of Kress passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 15, 2022, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in the Kornerstone chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Erlinda was born on November 11, 1965, in Lockney to Juan and Maria Martinez. She grew up in Tulia and attended Tulia Schools. After high school she moved to Kress. She married David Benavidez. She started working for Tulia Health and Rehab. Center in Tulia as the dietician and continued working there until it closed in 2022.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David.

She is survived by her husband Jose Torres, her three daughters; Jovan Adia and husband Zachary of Guam, Aleagra Garcia and husband Shanon of Kress and Aurora Benavidez and husband Manuel Vasquez of Kress, her brothers, and sisters; Elizabeth DeLeon of Tulia, Santos Martinez of Tulia, Manuel Martinez of Tulia, Jesus Martinez of Amarillo, Ysenia Turner of San Antonio and Jose Martinez of Odessa and eight grandchildren.
