Ernest "Ernie" Amaya (Plainview)

Ernest “Ernie” Amaya, 59, of Plainview passed away on December 12, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, December 17, 2020 in the Kornerstone Chapel with Israel Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Ernie was born on December 31, 1960 in Plainview, Texas to Edward and Juanita Amaya. He grew up in Plainview and attended schools there. He was a Welder by trade and worked for himself and many others over the years. He loved to make people laugh and was always smiling. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing the accordion. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Simon Lee Amaya and a brother, Juan Amaya. He is survived by his three daughters, Val Lopez and David of Plainview, Sonya Amaya and Chuck of Tulia, Stephanie Amaya and Tony of Plainview; three brothers, Roy Amaya of Lubbock, David Amaya of Amarillo, Alex Amaya of Plainview; three sisters, Yolanda Amay of Kress, Margaret Samarippa of Olton, Isabel Amaya of Temple; and eight grandchildren.
