Ervin Boedeker, age 86, died at his home Monday, April 18, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was born November 1, 1935, in Hale County to Leo and Lucie Boedeker. He grew up on his family's farm and attended school in Plainview. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Providence community and was a lifelong follower of the Lutheran faith. From the time he was a young boy until the age of 85 Ervin spent his life doing what he loved, farming in the Prairieview Community. The only time he was away from the farm was to serve his country as a member of the US Army 77th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Ft. Bragg NC and with the US Army 3rd Infantry Division at Kirch-Göns, Germany. Ervin was a plainspoken dedicated farmer with an unshakable work ethic. He cared greatly for his family, his friends, and his land. He never had a better friend than his beloved German Shepherd Toby. He is survived by is wife of 53 years Kay, his son Zane, his sister-in-law Thelma Boedeker and many nephews and nieces.
