Esperanza "Hope" Chasco (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas--Esperanza “Hope” Chasco, 76, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Jose Limas, Jr. officiating. Memorial services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

Esperanza was born on February 21, 1946, in Edinburg, Texas to Jose Angel and Santos (Saenz) San Miguel. She was raised and attended schools in Edinburg and later married Manuel Chasco on May 21, 1966. She worked as a school bus driver in Edinburg and later moved to Tulia and worked at the Tulia Health and Rehabilitation Center, El Camino Restaurant and was a school bus driver for Happy and Tulia for 40 years. She enjoyed bus driving and had an ear for music. Esperanza could play guitar, accordion and loved to sing. Her passion was cooking, baking, and playing music. Esperanza had a sense of humor and was a joke teller all the time. She loved her three fur dogs: Dingy, Chattit and Kersha.  She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Tulia.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Jose Angel and Santos San Miguel, her husband: Manuel Chasco, her brothers, and sisters: Rita Fuentes, Santiago San Miguel, Silvino San Miguel, Ninfa San Miguel, Esperanza San Miguel, and Consuelo San Miguel.

She is survived by her children: Sandy Flores and husband Greg of Happy, Elsa Carrasco and husband Juan of Tulia, Edna Chasco and George Perez, Jr. of Houston, Rene Chasco and wife Rosa of Tulia and Michael Chasco and wife C.J. of Tulia, her brothers and sisters: Norma Linda Escamilla of Edinburg, Noe San Miguel of Corpus Christi, Nora San Miguel of Edinburg, Noel San Miguel of Edinburg, Nelda Ozuna of Kerrville, Norma San Miguel of Edinburg and Joe San Miguel of Edinburg; 15 grandchildren: Krystal Arce, David Arce and Rigo Arce, Harley Flores, Raine Corado, Sunny Carrasco, Cloudy Carrasco, Hope Chasco, Mercedes Flores, Xane Chasco, Xathen Chasco, Xalaina Chasco, Kearse Chasco, Jeslyn Chasco, Jaedyn Chasco, and Kloe Chasco; 3 great grandchildren, Cage Arce, Noah Hagger and Mya Hagger.
