Speedy was born on December 14, 1932, in Sonora, Texas to Federico and Pauline Favila. Speedy moved to Plainview in 1948, where he began an impressive career in the automotive industry that spanned several decades. He started working at WT Cain Motor Company in 1948 and continued to build his legacy in parts sales at Caylor Auto Parts until the late 1990s, and later at Kiser until 2014. His strong work ethic and dedication to his craft earned him the respect and admiration of both peers and customers alike. In 1953 Speedy met Gregoria Olbeda at a church event. After a short courtship, they were married on July 04 1953 in Reynoso Mexico, which was followed by a honeymoon trip to Mexico City that later in Speedy's life, he would recount wonderful stories about that time. They were married for 60 years before her passing. A sports enthusiast, Speedy passionately supported his favorite teams, the Houston Colt 45s, Astros, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Cowboys. His love for baseball and football was matched only by his enjoyment of classic Westerns and cherished shows like The Andy Griffith Show. He also relished the simple pleasures of life such as reading the newspaper every day. Speedy leaves a legacy of love and hard work, not only in his family but also in the hearts of all who knew him.Speedy's spirit will continue to shine bright in the hearts of his grandchildren, each of whom he adored wholeheartedly. His life was a testament to hard work, love for family, and the steadfast joy found in both the simple and grand moments of life.
