Esteban “Steven” Rubio, Jr., 40, of Lockney passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Steven was born on April 15, 1980 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Esteban “Steve” Rubio, Sr. and Lenora Vera Pierce. He grew up in the Ft. Worth area and graduated from Crowley High School in 1999. He then attended Education of America where he received his Associates degree in Electronics and Computers. He married JoAnn Encizo in 2003. He worked for Cargill for many years and then White Energy for 7 years before going to work for Azteca Milling in Plainview. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Steven is survived by his wife JoAnn Encizo of Lockney; daughters, Angela Grace Encizo of Lockney, Emiliee Marie Encizo of Lubbock; mother and step-father, Lenora Vera Pierce and Larry of Ft. Worth; father, Steve Rubio, Sr. of Sherman; grandfather, Ricardo Rubio of Plainview; one brother, Jorge Rubio and wife Megan of Sherman and their son Max; two sisters, Sarah McGee and fiancé Ben Schneider of Ft. Worth, Steffani Vera and husband Neo Cox of Denton; brother-in-law, Gilbert Encizo and Jessica Sievek and son, Keegan Kole Encizo of Abilene; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to American Heart Association.
