Esther Faye Wallace (Plainview)

Esther Faye Kauffman Wallace, 85 leaped into the arms of Jesus on September 20, 2023, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, September 25, 2023 in the chapel of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M. on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the funeral home. Esther was born August 6, 1938, to Clarence and Martha (Liese) Kauffman of Gruver, Texas; the only daughter of eight children. She received Jesus as her Savior at the age of six years old and had a passion for missions. She graduated Gruver High School in 1957 and attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, Texas. She was also a member of Parkview Baptist Church where she met her future husband, Herbert Wallace. They were married on February 16, 1962, at First Baptist Church of Gruver. She worked in the Plainview School District as the Cafeteria Manager for 11 years. She was also church secretary for Parkview Baptist Church for 13 years until she and Herbert opened BJ Pump Service at 24th and Quincy Street from 1997 – 2005. She was a faithful member while attending church, serving as a Women’s Missionary Union president, leading Girls in Action groups, singing in the choir and playing the piano for services, and later teaching a ladies Sunday School class. She was faithful in sharing Christ with others, even while a member of Runningwater Draw Care Center until the day of her passing. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence Kauffman, mother Martha Kauffman and brothers Alvin, Fred, Norman and David; and her husband Herbert. She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Hooten & husband Dean of Bowie, TX and Linda Drake & husband Kerry of Plainview, TX; 5 grandchildren, Richard Hooten, Danny Hooten, Tanner Hooten, Abbie Drake and Sadie Argueta and 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Kauffman & wife Irene of Colorado Springs, CO, Roy Kauffman & wife Edith of Kerrville, TX and Glen Kauffman & wife Vickie of La Porte, TX along with many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. If a memorial would like to be made the family has requested it be sent to Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton, TX.
