Eulalia Barbian, 97, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Heckmann officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held at 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the funeral home. Eulalia was born on August 19, 1920 to Albert Bertelson and Clara Tergerson Bertelson in Hamilton County, Texas. She attended Liberty and Plainview High School graduating in 1940. She went on to attend cosmetology school in Lubbock, Texas. She married Tony Barbian in 1945 in Plainview, Texas. They then moved to Kress and purchased a farm. Mrs. Barbian was a beauty operator until retiring at the age of 89. She always stated “I would rather wear out than rust out.” She was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, eight sisters and two brothers. Eulalia is survived by her son, Tony Barbian, Jr. and wife Nelda of Plainview; four grandchildren, Sandra Ohnstad and husband Cory of Las Vegas, Nevada, Shawn Barbian of Houston, Dr. Scott Stoerner and wife Shelby of Sandia Park, New Mexico, Rachel Barbian of Plainview; and eight great grandchildren.
