Fred Robertson (Plainview)

Fred Robertson, 89, passed away on July 17, 2018. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Garland Street Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening, July 19, 2018 at Kornerstone.

He was born November 29, 1928 in Plainview, Texas to G.W. “Slim” and May (Walker) Robertson. Fred grew up in Plainview. He attended Plainview High School and graduated in 1946. He then attended and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1950. He came home and has farmed in the Plainview area ever since. He married Clara Laney on June 19, 1952 in Clovis, NM. Fred enjoyed visiting with his friends at Quarterway Gin. He was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Robertson of Plainview; a daughter, Susan Devine and husband Jerry of Lubbock; a brother, Walter Ray Robertson of Dimmitt and a grandson Kevin Devine of Lubbock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Byron Robertson and a brother, Jack Walker Robertson.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Santa Fe Assisted Living for their excellent care of Fred over the past few years.
