Freda Pearl Jones (Plainview)

Freda Pearl Jone, 92, formerly of Plainview passed away in Lubbock on Monday, April 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 3, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. until service time at Kornerstone. Freda Pearl Wiginton was born March 13, 1926 in Fisk, Texas to Fred and Winnie Wiginton. She grew up around the Coleman, Texas area, her family moved to the South Plains in 1937. She graduated from Floydada High School. She married Joe Kenneth Dillard on January 20, 1945 and he passed away in 1949. She later married W.T. “K” Jones on December 6, 1952 and he died in 1965. She was a homemaker until her children were grown then she worked at J.C. Penney’s and Citi National Bank and later was a caretaker for elderly. She was a former member of Garland Street Church of Christ where she taught a Bible class. Then after moving to Childress, she was a member of Childress Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, a son, Curtis Jones and a brother, Curly Wiginton. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Perkins and husband Darrell of Lubbock, Rita Gayle Coffey of Lubbock; one son, Steve Jones and wife Cindy of Childress; a daughter-in-law Judy Jones of Portland, Oregon; a sister, Beth Stair of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
