Gary Beeson (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Gary Beeson, 79, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 27, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Gary was born on January 29, 1941 in Flomot, Texas to Melba Jo and Jehu Beeson. He attended schools at Hart. He joined the US Navy in 1958. He was a member of the Seabees. He married Sharon Kay Love on April 12, 1962. They lived in Colorado for a few years working in the cattle industry. They lived in Kress in 1972 and moved to Tulia in 1974. He loved the rodeo. He was a team roper (the heeler), a bull rider, saddle bronc rider and a bareback rider. He also was a bull riding judge. He was also a truck driver for many years. After they moved to Tulia, he worked for B. Raymond Evans taking care of his racehorses and driving them to the races in the summertime. Later he drove a road maintainer for Swisher County. He also drove a school bus for Tulia ISD and he especially loved driving the Hornet Bus for the athletes of Tulia High School. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids and his great grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 53 years and his sister: Scarlet Sharp.

He is survived by two daughters: Kristi Roybal and husband Phillip of Hobbs, NM and Kymberly Sperry and husband Chris of Tulia, a bonus daughter: Kati Childress and husband Brad of Pampa, his sisters: Barbara Green of Arkansas and Cille Landers of Spring, TX, his grandchildren: Kassidi Camarillo and husband Kalin, Kale Ferguson and wife Amanda, Eric Roybal, Ellen Roybal, Beau Sperry and wife Payden and Kahlie Callison, his great grandchildren: Aiden, Kaymen, Tate, Kynzley, Kamryn, Tynlee, Michael, Kymber, Alexander, Kelby and Titan.
