Tulia, Texas—Gary Paul Elliff, 68, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 19, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Gary was born in Tulia, Texas on July 30, 1950 to Mary Harman Elliff and John Chester Elliff. He was raised in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1968. After graduation, he worked with his parents on the Family Dairy, Victory Jersey Farm. He later moved to Big Sandy, Texas and worked in the oil industry. Upon his return to Tulia, he worked several years for Fisher Well Service. Gary loved car races and loved going to the Texas Motor Speedway with his brother John. Gary loved all types of hunting, whether it was birds or bigger game. He enjoyed reminiscing, visiting, storytelling and teasing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Chester Elliff and two sons, Benny in 2003 and Danny in 2005.
Survivors include his special friend and companion, Pat Noble of Tulia, one brother, John Elliff and wife Nelda of Tulia, five sisters, Catherine Hoodenpyle and husband Jimmy of Lubbock, Vicky Driskill and husband Jack of Lubbock, Lorene Cole of Lubbock, Dana Sullivan of Lubbock and Becky Tucker and husband Daryl of Tulia, one son, Paul Elliff and wife Amanda of Big Sandy and several grandchildren.
