After marriage in 1959 and continuing to support the family while her husband graduated from college they moved to Hereford, Texas; then to College Station, Texas; then Stillwater, Oklahoma all the while supporting the family while Wyatte was pursuing advanced degrees. Then they moved to Washington D.C.; then Omaha, Nebraska; and back to Amarillo, Texas. Then they moved to Temple, Texas, where she excelled as a volunteer for the local hospital gift shop. Finally, back to Amarillo, Texas for the retiring golden years. Her long-time passion was reading James Patterson novels, usually at nighttime to relax.
