Geraldine Nolen (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Geraldine Nolen, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. James Williams and Rev. Eddy Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.    Geraldine was born on October 24, 1929 in Lakeview, Texas to Bert and Vera Jones. She graduated from Estelline High School.  She grew up in Hall County and later married Dean Nolen on October 16, 1948. In 1952 they moved to Swisher County and raised all their children. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. Geraldine was a homemaker and a nanny who always enjoyed walking, her bowling league and loved to visit with family and friends.   She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Ray Jones and Kyle Jones, 2 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.   She is survived by her husband: Dean Nolen of Tulia, three sons: Garland & Liz Nolen of Big Sandy, TX, LaRue & Michelle Nolen of Otis, OR, Todd & Darla Nolen of Cleburne, TX, two daughters: Joy & Melvin Wethington of Nazareth, TX and Jill & Glenn Ehly of Nazareth, TX, one sister: Athlene Hamilton of Amarillo, TX, 19 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.   Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 701 N El Paso Ave, Tulia, TX 79088.  Online condolences may be made at www.kornerstonefunerals.com.
