Tulia, Texas— Glen Earl Waldo Jr., 59, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Central Church of Christ in Tulia with Mr. Tim Johnson and Mr. Jonathan Zerby officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Amarillo Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 5-7 pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Glen was a dedicated Christian and served as a deacon at the church. His favorite church activity was leading singing and he always carried a song book with his Bible. He was involved in many children’s programs and spent his career as a dedicated educator. Glen was a fan of all types of music and had an extensive collection of CDs and records. Glen loved reading the newspaper and searching for a good deal in the circulars. Glen also was an Eagle Scout. He will be remembered as a wonderful mentor, teacher, dad, husband, son, and brother. Glen was born on November 14, 1960 in Tempe, Arizona to Glen Earl Sr. and Wynelle “Albracht” Waldo. Glen graduated from Wheeler High School and later completed his Bachelor’s degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He completed his masters degree at University of Houston Clear Lake. Glen married Toni Waldo on August 9, 1992 in Amarillo. Glen was a life long educator and was dedicated to improving education within the Texas Panhandle. Glen started his education career as a bus driver and teacher’s aide at Kelton ISD. From there he moved to Shamrock, Galena Park, Nazareth, Hart, Kress, Happy, Darrouzett, Sunray, and had recently retired as superintendent at Nazareth ISD. Glen is survived by his wife Toni Waldo, three sons: Gage Ethan Waldo, Glen “Trey” Earl Waldo III, and Jake Robertson Waldo. His parents: Glen Earl Waldo Sr. and Wynelle Waldo. Three brothers: Boyd Waldo, Gary Waldo, and Joel “Joey” Waldo. His nieces and nephews: Ashlee Gwin, Erinn Campbell, Stanlee Waldo, Benjamin Kraft, Kimberly Kraft, Austin Kraft, Rachael Lutz, Britt Waldo, Spencer Waldo, and Rylan Waldo. The family suggests memorials be made to High Plains Children’s Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.kornerstonefunerals.com.
