Glenn E. Jolly (Plainview)

Glenn Jolly, 92, of Kress died on Wednesday, March 30 2022 at Covenant Hospital of Plainview surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Kress United Methodist Church with Pastor Donna Lindley officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Glenn Elton Jolly was born February 21, 1930 in Plainview, Texas to Paul W. Jolly and Mary Lou Dennis. He grew up on a farm southwest of Plainview. He attended Ellen Grade School and Plainview High School where he graduated in 1948.

Glenn and Lona Jo Jones married on June 3,1952 at St. John’s Methodist Church in Plainview, Texas. They moved East of Kress in 1953 where they raised their family and still reside today. Glenn farmed until retiring in 1998.

Glenn was an active member of the Kress First United Methodist Church for 69 years. He served on the Kress School Board, Kress Farmers Elevator Board, Tax Appraisal board and was active in the Kress Senior Citizens. 

He loved playing his guitar and singing, crafting leather and playing games with friends and family.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lona Jo Jolly; four sons, Larry Jolly & wife Diana of Amarillo, Lonnie Jolly & wife LaDonna of Fritch, Mark Jolly & wife Beth of Plainview and Neil Jolly & wife Tonda of Kress; six grandchildren, Brandy Ellison & husband Cory Humphrey, Gavin Jolly & wife Mallary, Adri Evans & husband Eric, Matt Jolly, Libby Jolly and Lillie Jolly; six great grandchildren, Ashton, Kaden Ellison, Adrian Ellison, Wesley Jolly, Frederick Jolly and Henry Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Carla Gail and one sister, Evelyn Franklin
