Guadalupe D. Benavidez (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Guadalupe D. Benavidez, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Tulia. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Joe Gonzales, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

 A rosary will be held at 5:30 to 7:30 PM Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the funeral home.

Guadalupe was born on September 19, 1936 in Guss, Texas to Refugio and Carlota Benavidez. He has lived in Tulia since 1962 and married the love of his life Erminia Victoria Pacheco on May 26, 1958 in Lubbock. Texas. Guadalupe worked at Excel Corporation for 28 years in Plainview, Texas. He loved his roosters, music, fishing and he had a nickname for everyone in his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Refugio and Carlota Benavidez, two brothers; Mike Benavidez and Moses Gonzales.

He is survived by his wife; Erminia Victoria Benavidez of Tulia, his children; Dolores Vela of Lubbock, Refugio Benavidez of Clarendon, JoAnn Salazar of Tulia, Angie Briones of Tulia, Guadalupe Benavidez, Jr. of Conway, Victoria Maria Gonzales of Ft. Worth, Raquel Benavidez of Dallas, Eliza Velen Benavidez of Tulia, Amelio Benavidez of Tulia and Merejilda Maldonado of Tulia, his brothers; Frank Herrera, Tony Herrera and Lupe Herrera, his two sisters; Minga Herrera and Trinidad Benavidez; 42 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren.
