Tulia, Texas—Hardy Burrow, 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 1, 2021. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Charles Davenport and Rev. John Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Hardy was born January 7, 1926 in Tulia to Earl and Ethel Burrow. He grew up in Tulia and attended Tulia Schools. He married Gradyline “Jerry” Osborne on December 4, 1946 in Muleshoe. Hardy was a carpenter by trade. He spread joy and happiness in the homes he built and remodeled all over Tulia. He joined the US Army in March 1944 and served in WWII, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in May 1946. He received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Rhineland, Central Europe. He was on the first “Honor Flight” to Washington, DC. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tulia. He was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia.
Her is preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Ethel Burrow, his wife: Jerry Burrow (2008), and his siblings: Earl Ebb Burrow, J.G. Burrow, Moneta Allen and Wynona Bates.
He is survived by his daughter: Shana Daniels and husband Johnny of Tulia, his son: Steve Burrow of Tulia, four grandchildren: Grant Burrow and wife Megan of Murphy, Texas, Ryan Burrow of Crandall, Texas, Melissa Smith and husband Brian of Aurora, Colorado, Chance Williams and wife Melissa of Lake Charles, Louisiana, three great granddaughters and six great grandsons.
