Harold Martin (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Harold Martin, 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 27, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Tommy Ewing officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.   Harold was born on February 24, 1930 in Plainview, Texas to H.G. and Exie Martin. He lived at Kress for a short time before moving to Tulia. He grew up here and attended Tulia Schools. He married Lynn Hill in September, 1949. He worked for several farmers in Swisher County before working for Love Brothers Oil Co. He later worked for Tulia Wheat Growers then Young & Ellis Oil Co. as a propane truck driver. He then went to work for Barbour Brothers Oil Co. and retired at the age of 70 in 2000. He then went to work for West Texas Gas a year later and retired again at the age of 85. He loved his cars, his family and his grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lynn Martin in 1999, one son, Mike Martin, four brothers, Bill Martin, Delbert Martin, Leon Martin and Roy Martin and one sister, Gertrude Pevehouse. He is survived by one daughter: Debbie and Tony Perez of Tulia, two sons, Mark and Gneta Hill of Graham and John and Artemisa Hill of Schertz, one brother, Carl Martin of Tulia, two sisters, Gracie Hammons of Tulia and Janice Andrus of Tulia, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
