Ira Lee Smith (Tulia)

Ira Smith, 65, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at New Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Veals officiating. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

 He was born on July 19, 1959, in Tulia, Texas, to Earlie Sr. and Thelma (Dick) Smith. A proud graduate of Tulia High School. He had a passion for cooking, and his children were often treated to an array of delightful dinner plates. For many years, Ira found fulfillment in his career as a semi-truck driver, traversing the highways while cherishing the simple pleasures of life. In his free time, he enjoyed scrapping and recycling, always seeking ways to repurpose and find value in the materials around him.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Frank Smith, Ezekiel Smith and Jodean Smith. 

 He is survived by his children, Buck, Darion, KC, Antonio, Falonda, Stephen, Ira Jr. and many more, his brothers and sisters, Mary Elizabeth and husband James Johnson, Earlie Mary Harris, Mattie Russel and Early Jr.
