Brent Joy (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Brent Joy, 81, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Central Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Brent was born on February 16, 1937 in Brady, Texas to William and Verna Estelle Joy. He moved to Tulia in 1949 and grew up here and graduated from Tulia High School in 1955.He married Linda Jennings on June 29, 1957 in Tulia. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1961 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. They moved to Andrews and he worked for Texaco until they moved back to Swisher County to farm in 1963. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. He served on the TISD School Board form 1982-1988.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a daughter: Jayna Mae Joy and a brother: Dwight Joy.

He is survived by two children: Dina Koch of Tulia and Brad Joy of Lubbock, two brothers: Dale Joy of Wimberley and Redgie Joy of Rowlett, one sister: Sherry Davis of Palacios, TX and two grandchildren: Will Meek of Austin and Ashley Meek of Alamosa, Colorado.
