Jan Whitfill (Plainview)

Jan Whitfill, 78, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, March 24^th, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 27^th in the Kornerstone Chapel with Mr. Bradley Speer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Jan was born on June 9, 1945 in Lubbock, Texas to W.E. Sr. and Lena Burnett.  She grew up on a farm east of Plainview.  She attended Plainview schools and graduated from Plainview High School.  Jan married Raymond Whitfill on June 25, 1965 and they made their home in Plainview. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed crafts and making jewelry to give away.  Her grandchildren became her favorite hobby going to all their events and games and just spending time with them.  She was a great Mimi!  She loved the mountains, just not the bears! She enjoyed music and singing and was also known to be silly at times. She made the best red velvet cake!

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, W.E. & Lena Burnett; siblings, RJ Burnett, Billy Jean Applewhite, W.E. Burnett Jr., Orville Burnett, Kenneth Burnett, and Pat Christian.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shelly Russell and husband Bobby of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, Kelly Davison and husband Dennis of Canyon; one brother, Neal Burnett and wife Donna of Plainview; a sister-in-law, Barbara Burnett; nine grandchildren, Zachary, Zane, Zander, Zoe, Zeb Russell; Tate Davison and wife Miranda, Tanner Davison and wife Jordan, Trevor & Tyler Davison; great grandson, Wyatt Russell and one on the way.
