Janice Lynn Frausto Rodriguez (Tulia)

Janice Lynn Frausto Rodriguez, 48, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Hector Madrigal and Father Scott Raef officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A rosary will be on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Janice was born on December 4, 1975 in Tulia to Felix and Lorene (Gonzales) Frausto. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1994. After graduating high school, she attended Amarillo College.

 Janice married Joe Rey Rodriguez on April 20, 2002 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit.  On November 19, 2004 Janice and Joe Rey became parents to their beautiful daughter Paris. Janice was a Dance Mom for 14 years, a pageant mother and most recently managed the band “Paris y Los Sospechosos” where she remained Paris’s number one fan and supporter.

 She worked at Plainview Covenant Hospital as a phlebotomist for several years and left her work to be a caregiver for her parents, nieces and nephews. That was Janice, a caregiver, a loving wife, mother and an amazing cook.  Janice was also the best at hosting parties and coordinating events. Janice was a dancing queen with a beautiful personality and was known for her catchphrase “and I still look good.”

 Janice was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Church in Amarillo and previously volunteered as a youth leader, DRE, coordinator and served her church as a Eucharist minister and reader at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia. 

 Janice had a fashionable style and was glamorous everywhere she went. She loved purses, makeup, Barbies, rings and getting her nails done. She loved anything that had pink and glitter and especially her red lipstick (Shade 20 Pioneer Lipstick). 

 She was preceded in death by her parents Felix and Lorene Frausto, her brother Daniel Frausto, her sisters, Norma Frausto and Cynthia Frausto, her mother-in-law Felipa Rodriguez, her brother-in-law, Ismael Cruz, her fur babies Oreo, Chanel and Guero. 

 Janice is survived by her husband Joe Rey Rodriguez of Amarillo, her daughter Paris Rodriguez of Amarillo, her brothers Ronald Frausto and wife Margarita of Spring Branch, David Frausto and wife Paula of Tulia, her sisters Debra Cruz of Tulia and Nelda Garza and husband Joe of Tulia, her father-in-law Jose Rodriguez of Tulia, her sisters-in-law Terrie Rodriguez and Santos Martinez of Tulia and Vickie Huerta and husband Michael of Tulia, her brother-in-law Joel Rodriguez and wife Kirby of Tulia, her uncles Tony Frausto and wife Minnie of Kress and Domingo Gonzales and wife Evelyn of Pharr, TX, many nieces and nephews and last, but most certainly not least, her fur-babies Lucky, Queen, Pinky, Maggie, Paloma, Dos and Valentina.
