JaYmyne Diego Barrientez, 15, of Tulia went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 8, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Edward Barrientez officiating and Pastor Anthony Longoria assisting. A burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Kornerstone Chapel.
JaYmyne was born on August 15, 2007 to Jason Barrientez and Arlen (Magallanes) Gomez. He attended Tulia High School, and he participated in sports and various events. In football he would play as a quarterback and most importantly he loved baseball. He was also known as an amazing catcher AKA “The Brick WALL” for the Tulia Hornets. JaYmyne lived life to the fullest and was the life of the party. He loved his “Takuache” or Cuh” haircut and he never wanted to cut it off. He enjoyed riding his Red GMC truck listening to Spanish music. JaYmyne enjoyed many activities such as welding, ride dirt bikes, razors and to dance. What he loved doing the most was going fishing. He loved his sister JaZmine so much; he would see her like a second mom and of course he loved all his other siblings Joseph, Jr (Frankie), and Marie. JaYmyne will be remembered for his pure heart, his humble character, and the respectful person he was. He had family pride, especially his last name ‘Barrientez”. JaYmyne will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Pastor Francisco Barrientez, Sr.
He is survived by his father, Jason Barrientez of Tulia; his mother and step-father, Arlen Gomez and Frankie Lee Gomez of Plainview; his siblings, JaZmine Jannette Barrientez of Tulia, Frankie Lee Jr. Gomez of Plainview, Alliana Marie Gomez of Virginia and Joseph Lee Gomez of Plainview; his paternal grandmother, Patsy Barrientez of Tulia; his maternal grandparents, Benita Magallanes and Cesar Magallanes of Tulia, Patricia Gomez of Amarillo; his great grandparents, Robert Musquiz and wife Mary of Tulia and many uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
