Jeannine Johnston Moore (Plainview)

Jeannine Johnston Moore, 92, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Mike Shafer of Lubbock officiating.  Burial will be held in the Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.  Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Jeannine was born on September 27, 1929 in Trent, Texas to Herbert and Ruth Johnston.  She grew up in Hamlin and graduated from Hamlin High School.  She attended Hardin Simmons University where she received her degree.  She was a 3^rd grade teacher in Wichita Falls for several years.  Jeannine married John Olen Moore on August 31, 1952 and after their marriage, Jeannine was a homemaker.  John and Jeannine lived in Midland, Baytown, Oklahoma City, Liberal Kansas, and then Ft. Worth.  John preceded her in death in March of 1981.  Jeannine moved to Plainview in 1990.  Jeannine was very active in her community and was a member of First United Methodist Church, P.E.O., Gamma Delphine, and a founding member of the Go Go Girls.  She was also a member of birthday clubs and multiple bridge clubs.

Jeannine was preceded in death by her husband John Moore and her parents, Herbert and Ruth Johnston.

She is survived by her two children, Michael Joe Moore and wife Janet of Birmingham, Alabama, SuDeline Street and husband Barry of Kress; sister, Herbie Fay West of Abilene; four grandchildren, Johnston Moore of Rochester, NY, Colton Street and wife Devin of Lubbock, Chase Street and wife Rebecca of Kress, CassiDe Street of Lubbock; and four great grandchildren, Reese, Owen, Stratton, and Jess Street.
