It is with great sadness that the family of Jennifer Dawn Lindeman of Kress announces her passing surrounded by family on February 2, 2022. She was 47 years old. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, February 6th from 2 to 4 pm at Kornerstone Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Monday, February 7th at 2 pm with Dr. Kelly Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.
Jennifer was born in Plainview on April 16, 1974 to Karl and Sheryl Lindeman. She graduated from Kress High School in 1992, then moved to Levelland to attend South Plains College. Life threw her a curve ball on September 25, 1993 when a horrific car accident left her paralyzed. This physical disability didn’t weaken her wits or sideline her for long as she began wheeling around to her brother’s football games and cheering on the Kress Kangaroos through rain, sleet, or snow. She wanted to continue her education and began attending classes at Texas Tech in 2000 with the help of her mother, who took her to class, helped take notes, and went the extra mile to ensure all of Jennifer and Jason’s parties included mom’s seven layered dip. Jen was in the Honors College, the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, and ultimately graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech in 2007.
Jen loved the Red Raiders and enjoyed attending football games, and always answered Jason’s “Raider” with her own “Power!”, even last Tuesday after the basketball game. She fell in love with hockey when she was at Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado and was thrilled when Lubbock got their very own Cotton Kings hockey team. She amassed a large collection of hockey jerseys with autographs from all the players and was ecstatic to learn that several of them lived in the apartment upstairs.
Jen lived her life to the fullest and was the life the party. Everyone who knew her was drawn to her smile and laughter. She was always willing to give wheelchair rides, especially to her nieces, and didn’t let her disability get in her way. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially when they went to George Strait concerts. Jen liked singing karaoke, watching friends play pool, volunteering to be her nieces’ make-up model, and playing on the computer. She set up Delbert’s first email account, was the first in the family with a MySpace page, and had Netflix back when they only mailed DVDs. She was a darling daughter, a super sister, a crazy cousin, an awesome aunt, and made an impact on everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed.
Jennifer is survived by parents Karl and Sheryl Lindeman of Kress, brother Jason and his girlfriend Clara Elliott of Lubbock, nieces Infinity and Shylee Lindeman of Lubbock, maternal grandmother Gen Garner of Kress, aunts Judy Bertelson and husband Steve of Kress, Janis Jones and husband Larry of Lubbock, Josephine Clark of Plainview, and Barbara Bloxom of Santa Fe, and uncles Dale Lindeman and Herman Lindeman of Plainview. A list of cousins, extended family, in-laws, out-laws, and cherished friends would take several pages to complete.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude’s or your local humane society.
