Tulia, Texas—Jerry Don Clayton, 70 years a veteran of Tulia, TX passed away on July 4, 2019 in Donley County. He was born in Paducah, TX on September 23, 1948 to Adie Lee and Chloe Belle (Green) Clayton. Jerry moved from Paducah to Wayside and later moved to Tulia where he attended Tulia Schools. Jerry later enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country. He later resided in Tulia after serving in the military. Jerry was a hard and dedicated worker and farmer. He worked for D/A Manufactures in Tulia for forty years. He loved farming, fishing, and boating and charity biking events. He loved people of all color, sorts and kind. He loved living on his little place in the country where he lived most of his life. He met and fell in love and married Tina Yarbrough June 20, 2015. He remained married to Tina until his death. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; Adie Lee and Chloe Clayton, three brothers; Al Clayton, Ben Clayton and Jimmie Clayton, five sisters; Joe Ellen Merritt, Clara Carver, Linda Gail Williams, Nolie Marie Wright, Patricia Light. He is survived by his wife of four years; Tina S. Clayton, three dogs; Duke, Blue and Suga, one sister of Quanah; Betty Roper, five sons; Jerry W. Clayton and wife Shelly, Barrick Henderson D’Jua Yarbrough and wife Deaundra, Christopher Clayton and wife Angela, four daughters; Lareisha Yarbrough, Evonne Woolen and husband Reggie, Tish Murrell and husband Terry, Togo and Trista Halford, Tara Mahannah and husband Clint,  his father-in-law; Anderson Yarbrough, 29 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, his god granddaughter; Little Mattie,  a host of nieces and nephews, special nephews, Big Steve, David Lindeman and wife Melanie, Thurman Roper and wife Shauna, Kenny Roper and wife Carrie, James Roper and wife Joanie, special soul brothers; Cleveland Henderson, Julius Gardner, Russ Macom and Rickie White, Sr., his godsons; Little Rickie and wife Roxanne, Quade Roache, John Lowry, his goddaughter; Annie Lowry. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Harry Williams officiating and Rev. Roy Williams assisting.
