Jerry Lloyd Evans (Tulia)

Jerry Lloyd Evans went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 21, 2023 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Tulia Methodist Church with Pastor Sammy Espinosa officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Jerry was born to Lloyd and Virginia Evans on May 10, 1942. He attended Tulia Schools and graduated in 1960. He married his High School sweetheart, Patricia Sweatt on September 8, 1962 and they were married for 61 years. He attended Texas Tech University and then worked for the USDA office for a couple of years. He spent the rest of his life farming on the family farm. The things he enjoyed most about the farm included the smell of rain, seeing the wheat sprout and the sight of a new calf. Jerry and Pat have three Children, Karl, born in 1963; Kyle born in 1966 and Sheryl born in 1969. Jerry and his family attend the Tulia United Methodist Church. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Jean Vaughn. He is survived by wife, Pat; his sons, Karl & wife Martha and Kyle & wife Melissa; his daughter, Sheryl Stephens & husband Troy; grandchildren, Kayla Evans, Taylor Damron, Kami Evans, Jenny Moreno & husband Austin, Jarrett Evans, Christen Damron and Abbey Evans and great grandchildren, Tucker, Oaklee and Addie. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Tulia Methodist Church, Boys Ranch or a favorite charity.
