Jesse Maciel (Tulia)

--Jesse Maciel, 71, of Tulia passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2025 in the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Harold Drake officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 18, 2025 in the Kornerstone Chapel.

Jesse was born on July 24, 1953, in Karnes City, Texas, to Jose and Felipa (Martinez) Maciel. Jesse married Noemi Chapa on January 5, 1974, in Tulia, sharing a brief but cherished life together.

He enjoyed a successful career, initially working for Grabbe-Simpson Motors before becoming a welder and painter at Roll-A-Cone, where he retired in 2005. His passions included playing softball with a team called the Tex Mex and spending leisure time at the lake, cooking out and fishing. A dedicated mechanic, always working in his car. He loved wearing all his hats especially his pimp hat. Jesse also had a green thumb for gardening and was frequently engaged in building projects around his home. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he took great joy in watching his grandchildren play sports.

He will be honored for his love of family, friends, and community.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Felipa Maciel; his wife, Noemi Maciel; his daughter, Graciela Carbajal; his brothers and sister, Lupe Maciel, Jose Garza, Olivia Aguilar and Jose Maciel.

He is survived by his children, Abel Maciel and wife Amber of Tulia, Jessica Medellin of Tulia, Maria Louisa Maciel of Tulia and Silvester Maciel and wife Raquel of Tulia; his sister, Adela Trevino of Edinburg; twenty-three grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
