Jessie Mae Rawson, 98, of Tulia passed away January 23, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2024 in the Kornerstone Chapel with Rev. John Gillespie of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Jessie was born December 6, 1925 in Liberal Kansas to Jesse B and Addie M Mortimer. She married Edson L Rawson on January 15, 1956 and moved to Tulia Texas. She had two children, Steven born August 14, 1959 and a Daughter Elizabeth Ann born October 4, 1964. Jessie witnessed a lot of history in her 98 years. She began working at the age of 15 during World War II and continued working until she married in 1956. In 1983 she began working and the First Presbyterian Church and continued until her retirement at the age of 85. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, oil painting, and embroidery. Jessie was a member of the Study Club and Bridge Club. She was also a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She always enjoyed Friday dinner and coffee with her friends. She took great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to see her family coming up the driveway. She attended their events and cut out clippings when they were in the newspaper. She passed away peacefully with the same dignity and class in which she lived her life. She was preceded in death by her son Steve in 2003 and her husband of 48 years in 2004, two sisters, Florence Hardy and Billie Taber. She is survived by a daughter Elizabeth Ann Thompson and husband Rick, daughter-in-law, Sherri Rawson, 4 grandchildren Daniel Rawson and wife Amber, Tabitha Wilkerson and husband Reggie, Megan Thompson and husband Anthony and Savannah Thompson. She also has 12 Great Grandsons, DJ, David, Matthew, TJ , Dez, Sean, Taz, Colt, Bentley, Cayden, Taron, and Judah.
