Tulia, Texas—Jimmy Carl Malone, 81, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 15, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. He was born on November 13, 1936 in Tulia to Jim and Gladys Malone. He attended the Love School and then in Tulia and Hereford. He served in the Texas National Guard. In his younger days, he did a variety of jobs, including helping build the highway northeast of Tulia called the Claude Crossing. He worked at the Tulia Power Plant. He worked at cotton gins and farmed. For most of his adult life Jimmy worked at elevators including the Black Elevator at Friona. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Hereford. He is survived by his children: Kelly Lynn Bushman of Hereford, Walter Clay Malone and wife Jodi of Hereford, Michael Dwaine Malone and wife Samantha of Kearney, Nebraska, Cylinda Sue Malone of Nebraska, one brother: Roger Malone of Dimmitt, one sister: Freida White of Haltom City, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
