Tulia, Texas—Jimmy Lee Thomas, 80, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. David Haynes, pastor of Church of God in Christ Jackson Chapel, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Jimmy was born on December 28, 1937 in Howland, Texas to Hardy and Dovie Thomas. He grew up at Howland and attended B. J. Graves High School. They moved to Claytonville in 1956 to farm. He married Shirley Crain in September 1956. They moved to Tulia in 1968. He farmed for Vernon Andrus for over 45 years. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ Jackson Chapel. He is preceded in death by his parents: Hardy and Dovie Thomas, his brother: Albert Ray Thomas and a grandson: Jamyn Thomas. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Thomas of Tulia, one daughter: Flordie Hawthorne of Tulia, three sons: Curtis Thomas and wife Stephanie Jo of Tulia, Robert Thomas of New Deal and J.J. Thomas and wife Sonia of Tulia, his brothers and sisters: Tommy Thomas of Dallas, Georgia Manning of Topika, KS, Johnnie Hall of Paris, TX, Hardy Antwine Thomas of Garland and Jack Thomas of Dallas, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
