Tulia, Texas—Our beloved Jo Evelyn Anderson went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 surrounded by the ones she loves and was ready to be with Jesus. Jo Evelyn Anderson, 89, passed away at the BSA Hospice of the Southwest in patient Facility. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Jo Evelyn was born on February 15, 1930 in Swisher County to John and Lela Whitten. She married Miles Anderson on August 30, 1947 in Tulia. She enjoyed spending time with family and visiting relatives in California and Hawaii. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia. Her family will dearly miss her but rejoices in the fact that she is with Jesus and that they will one day reunite with her in the Glory.
Jo is preceded in death by her parents; John and Lela Whitten, her husband; Miles Anderson, her brothers; Bill Whitten and Jon Ray Whitten, her grandson; Aleck Anderson.
Jo is survived by two daughters; Gay Hutchens and husband Bobby of Garland, Texas, Kay Maxwell and husband David of College Station, two sons: D. Anderson and wife Robbin of Austin, Texas and Larry Anderson of Boyd, Texas, four grandchildren; Keifer Anderson, Shepard Anderson and Henley Anderson all of Austin, Texas and Jacob Maxwell of College Station, Texas, two great grandchildren; Spencer Maxwell and Reese Maxwell both of College Station, Texas, two sister-in-laws; Twila Whitten of Tulia and Carol Whitten of Snook, Texas and numerous family members.
Her family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses from Home Health, Swisher Memorial Assisted Living and BSA Hospice of the Southwest for their excellent care and attentiveness to her. She was loved and cared for by so many.
