Joan Alva McCarty (Plainview)

Joan Alva Whaley McCarty, 81, of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday June 3, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, June , 2020 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, Texas with Rick Sullivan, Interim Pastor of College Heights Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Joan was born on January 19, 1939 to Bert Alva and Thelma "Babe" Whaley in Los Angeles, California. She married Ronald McCarty on December 6, 1977 in Clovis, New Mexico. She was employed as an administrative assistant for the Civil Service. She is survived by her husband Ronald McCarty of Lubbock, TX; her children, Cassandra Darline Hargrove of Lubbock, TX, Deidra Babe Dutschmann of China Spring, TX, Jessice Lenore Musser of Waxhaw, NC, Julie Ann McCarty, Matthew McCarty of Canyon, TX; one brother, Donald Kitts of Upland, CA; 18 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
